Baldwin Design Council member, Melissa Morgan, IIDA, ASID, is celebrating Earth Month by sharing some of her favorite eco-friendly products with us! We love her eye for eclectic, unexpected designs. Enjoy!

chairs

I love how these translucent chairs from the Kim Markel Glow collection add the perfect understated elegance to any room. Made from handcrafted reclaimed plastics, they create a beautiful one-of-a-kind texture.

Garage Door

Do you love a vintage touch? Consider recycling planks of wood for an accessible and beautiful way to cultivate a vintage ambiance to any setting. Added bonus? This home decor trend can be incorporated for both indoor and outdoor settings.

Rustic Sliding Door

Next idea to consider is a recycled statement piece that tells a story. For example, pictured above is not your ordinary barn door. This luxurious rustic sliding door was created by using salvaged marine wood from a 40-year-old bait barge, which was destroyed by a swell in the Pacific Ocean from the 2011 tsunami that hit Japan.

Succulent Art

Now if you love being outside, then this next idea is for you! Take the beauty of Mother Earth and incorporate it in your home with succulent art, an innovative idea for any design renovations.

 Paint Can Artwork

Less of a DYI-er and more of a collector? This exciting design concept of Paint Can Artwork from Phillips Collection is a one-of-a-kind piece that will add a sophisticated appeal to any home. Beautifully crafted out of recycled paint cans, this wall artwork reduces and reuses waste materials in the environment while being the conversation piece of the room.

Now that Melissa has shared some of her favorites, tell us how you celebrate Earth Month and which eco-friendly products inspire you!
